International Touring Exhibition: Itinerant Pucará Bulls

International Touring Exhibition: Itinerant Pucará Bulls

Showing until Saturday 11 May 2024

The first Australian exhibition of a unique Peruvian folk art collection - 'Pucará Bulls' is showing at Mitchell Fine Art in Brisbane until Saturday 11th May.

Featuring a collection of 21 intricately handcrafted pieces, the Pucara Bulls are vibrant ceramics that originated from the Spanish invasion of Peru in the 16th century.

This international travelling collection has already been shown in North and South America, Asia and Europe and is showing in Brisbane for its Australian debut.

With their unique expression, colours and patterns, the ceramics highlight a rich cultural tradition through intricate craftsmanship.

Traditionally positioned on household rooftops, these iconic bulls are believed to safeguard and bestow good fortune and joy upon their inhabitants.

Mitchell Fine Art is pleased to present the international touring exhibition in partnership with the Embassy of Peru in Canberra.

The Pucará Bulls' collection is showing until Saturday 11 May 2024 at Mitchell Fine Art in Arthur St, Fortitude Valley Brisbane.

Mitchell Fine Art is open 6 days a week; Monday to Friday 10am - 5.30pm and Saturday 10am - 5pm, with parking available onsite.

Art lovers can sign up to the gallery's mailing list via the website or follow socially on Facebook and Instagram.
