Congratulations to Ann Thomson on her selection as a finalist in the 2023 Paddington Art Prize in Sydney.
The Paddington Art Prize is a national acquisitive prize, awarded annually for a painting inspired by the Australian landscape. The prize encourages the interpretation of the landscape as a significant contemporary genre.
Ann Thomson is a Brisbane born, Sydney based painter and sculptor known for her vibrant, expressive artworks. Ann's works are not intended to replicate a scene or a landscape, but rather evoke a sense of place.
Since graduating from the National Art School in 1962, Ann Thomson has become a force in the Australian art scene with countless solo and group exhibitions throughout Australia and overseas.
The exhibition of finalists will be held from 12th - 22nd October at Cooee Art Leven Gallery in Sydney.
