Ann Thomson is a major survey exhibition curated by Terence Maloon, former Director of the Drill Hall Gallery, and comprises key works created over the past two decades. The exhibition is showing at Orange Regional Gallery in NSW from 7th December 2024..
Ann Thomson is a Brisbane born, Sydney based painter and sculptor known for her vibrant, expressive artworks. The exhibition presents works that convey Thomson’s feeling of pulse and rhythm.
Since graduating from the National Art School in 1962, Ann Thomson has become a force in the Australian art scene with countless solo and group exhibitions throughout Australia and overseas.
Ann has won a number of prizes, including the Wynne Prize, Tattersalls Art Prize, Geelong Contemporary Art Prize and major commissions include Australia Felix, the central sculptural installation at the 1992 World Expo in Seville.
Ann Thomson's work is included in many important collections such as Art Gallery of New South Wales, Queensland Art Gallery, Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection, Madrid and Villa Haiss Museum, Germany.
The Opening event on is on Friday 6 December from 6pm with a Floor Talk to be held on Saturday 7th December at Orange Regional Gallery, Orange NSW.
