Franck Gohier features in the group exhibition 'Maximum Madness: Art Inspired by Mad Max' at the Caboolture Regional Gallery until 8th March 2025.
Curated by Jonathan McBurnie the exhibition brings together a range of artists paying homage to their favourite post-apocalyptic (anti) hero - Mad Max.
With its grab bag aesthetics, subversive politics and lustful, irreverent approach to Australian hoon culture, Mad Max has remained a cultural touchstone, and a highly influential convergence of tropes, images and iconoclasm, ideal inspiration for visual artists.
Franck Gohier is a Darwin-based artist who has an extensive portfolio as a painter, sculptor and printmaker.
His creative practice is a response to lived experiences and knowledge of Northern Australia – its people and natural environment, significant political and cultural events, and social history.
Franck Gohier’s artwork is steeped in his political and social consciousness.
