Congratulations to Mirra Whale on her selection as finalist in the 2025 King’s School Art Prize in Sydney.
Mirra Whale is a Sydney based artist whose artworks explore the formal and conceptual limits of the genre of still life. Within her practice, Mirra utlises everyday household objects and presents them from another angle.
Mirra’s works tread the lines between the physical and the ideal, and between the timelessness of the painted image and the time-bound structure of stories.
Established in 1994, The King’s School Art Prize is an annual, $20,000 acquisitive award, presented to the Australian artist judged the best contemporary artwork.
