Peter Hudson features in a group exhibition at Caloundra Regional Gallery from 20th October 2023.
Land Holds Memory represents an immersion in and sensing of these potent and powerful places, and an openness to the histories, scars, songs and voices that pervade them.
The primarily plein air works are responses to a series of field trips to the Bunya Mountains, Girraween National Park and Carnarvon Gorge – sites that are resonant with multilayered geological, ecological and human histories.
Peter Hudson draws largely on contemporary Australian history for inspiration in his art making and has been particularly influenced by a keen interest in Aboriginal Australian post colonisation. As such Peter Hudson’s paintings and drawings have a deep connection to country and the natural world
The exhibition is showing at Caloundra Regional Gallery from 20 October to 3 December 2023.
An opening event will be held on Thursday 19 October, 6-8pm. For more information please call 5420 8299 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
