A survey exhibition of artworks by Steve Lopes is showing at Orange Regional Gallery until 17 July 2022.
With artworks created over a 24-year period, ‘Encountered’ features over eighty paintings, as well as drawings, prints, collages and the artist’s diaries and drawing books.
The exhibition, curated by Kon Gouriotis, editor at Artist Profile, was shown at S.H. Ervin Gallery in Sydney from 26 March – 9 May 2022.
Steve Lopes is a Sydney based painter and printmaker known for his landscapes. He often works en plein air, painting vignettes of a place which are used as references for large-scale studio works.
His works have been acquired in collections such as the National Art Gallery of Australia, Parliament House Art Collection, Canberra, BHP Billiton Art Collection and the Time Warner Collection in New York.
