Congratulations to Min-Woo Bang and Odessa Mahony-de Vries on their selection as finalists in the 2026 Redland Art Award in QLD.
Min-Woo Bang's cloudscape paintings are both ethereal and mesmerising. Struck with the charm of the Australian landscape and the absolute enormity of our skies, Min-Woo Bang’s primary subject matter is the allure of our natural surroundings and the ephemeral beauty of our skies.
Odessa Mahony-de Vries is an emerging artist based on the Sunshine Coast, known for energetic, process-driven abstract artwork. Working intuitively, Mahony-de Vries builds her compositions through layered gestures—pouring, scraping and reworking paint to create surfaces that shift between control and unpredictability.
The Redland Art Awards is a biennial contemporary painting competition open to artists who are Australian citizens or permanent residents. In 2026 the Redland Art Awards primary award is an acquisitive prize of $20,000.
Winners will be selected by the lead judge and announced at the gala opening event on Friday 27 November, 6pm.
The exhibition of finalists will be exhibited at Redland Art Gallery from 29 November 2026 to 22 January 2027.
