Dorothy paints her custodial country of ‘Mina Min’, a major ceremonial site at Lake MacKay in the Tanami Desert, north of Yuendumu in Central Australia.

Dorothy uses unique techniques to portray the landscape of her country, sometimes represented as an aerial interpretation and at other times microscopic and highly detailed.

The site of Mina Mina is made up of two enormous water soakages lined with clay. When it rains and the water soaks into the ground, small areas of the earth dry and lift up, with salt around the edges. The lines of dots represent the encrustations of salt, stretching infinitely onwards.
