Congratulations to Miriam Innes on her selection as a finalist in both the Stanthorpe Art Prize, and the Pro Hart Outback Art Prize in Broken Hill.
The Stanthorpe Art Prize which is held at the Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery is a biennial art prize that showcases art from across Australia. The exhibition will be open from 7 September to 10 November 2024 with winners to be announced on Friday 6 September.
The Pro Hart Outback Art Prize is held at the Broken Hill City Art Gallery. The prize showcases work in any media which reflects the spirit and diversity of the Australian Outback. The works are showing from 9 August - 27 October 2024.
The Gympie Regional Gallery has also nominated Miriam Innes artwork '22.96/receding' for the 2024 AMaGA Awards under their Community Connection category.
Miriam Innes is an Irish born artist now living in Gympie QLD, best known for her charcoal drawings of hyper-realistic sprawling streetscapes. While the subject of her drawings are occupied by the metropolis, her choice of natural materials reflects upon her childhood spent in Ireland’s boglands.
