Congratulations to Riste Andrievski on his selection as finalist in the 2025 Olive Cotton Art Award Finalist.
The Olive Cotton Award is a $20,000 biennial national award for excellence in photographic portraiture in memory of photographer Olive Cotton.
The finalist exhibition showing at at Tweed Regional Gallery has been selected from entrants across Australia and is a significant opportunity for established and emerging photographers. The winning work is acquired for the Gallery’s collection.
Riste Andrievski is an Australian artist born in Macedonia. Raised speaking two languages, Andrievski’s images communicate, through the visual, ideas that might otherwise be lost in the space between languages and cultures.
Photography is the art medium he was drawn to, with its strong graphic pictorial expressive narrative, it enables him to tell his story. His work centres on notions of identity, in particular the influence that landscape has on identity and self.
