Collection: Riste Andrievski
Riste Andrievski is an Australian artist born in Macedonia and has lived in Wollongong since he was a young child. Raised speaking two languages, Andrievski’s images communicate, through the visual, ideas that might otherwise be lost in the space between languages and cultures.
His artistic practice focuses on photography and printmaking. Photography is the art medium he was drawn to, with its strong graphic pictorial expressive narrative, it enables him to tell his story. His work centres on notions of identity, in particular the influence that landscape has on identity and self.
Andrievski undertook printmaking as a major at Wollongong University and followed on as a Graphic Reproducer in pre-press as a trade and followed in the old traditional film work of photography, a reproduction in print through film.
