Collection: Gilang Fradika
Gilang Fradika is an Indonesian contemporary visual artist born Central Java, Indonesia. He now lives and works in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
He graduated from the Yogyakarta State University with a major in Graphic Arts in 2012.
Gilang works mostly with two-dimensional surfaces, particularly in painting. His work blends elements of nature, human and animal forms, folklore, and popular culture, creating layered, surreal, and often richly figurative compositions.
He is known for combining organic visual forms (like plant structures and anatomy) with imagined or symbolic scenes, blurring the boundary between realism and metaphor, creating a dreamlike space, where multiple timelines, perspectives, and emotional states coexist.
His work frequently reflects on personal memory, inner emotional worlds, cultural narratives, and the interplay between structure and disorder.
His work has been exhibited internationally and featured in notable contemporary art contexts, including art fairs and museum showcases.
