National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year. To celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations
cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.
This year’s theme calls on each of us to ‘Get Up,Stand Up, Show Up’ for systemic change and to keep rallying around Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
This collection of works in Le Gallerie are by artists that have had an incredible influence on their communities and have used art as a tool for progress and self-determination
