Collection: Touring Exhibition - 'Itinerant Pucará Bulls'

 The first Australian exhibition of a unique Peruvian folk art collection 'Pucará Bulls' is showing at Mitchell Fine Art in Brisbane until Saturday the 11th of May.

Featuring a collection of intricately handcrafted pieces, the Pucara Bulls are vibrant ceramics that date back to the Spanish invasion of Peru in the 16th century.

This international travelling collection has already been shown in North and South America, Asia and Europe and is showing in Brisbane for its Australian debut.

With their unique expression, colours and patterns, the ceramics highlight a rich cultural tradition through intricate craftsmanship.

Traditionally positioned on household rooftops, these iconic bulls are believed to safeguard and bestow good fortune and joy upon their inhabitants.
