hand-dyed cotton and linen fibres on tarlatan
The Stratopulp method is an image-making process developed by Jorge Marino Brito.
It is a handmade paper technique in which men's discarded clothing — cotton shirts, linen trousers — is destroyed, broken down to fibre pulp, and reconstituted as a new surface.
It combines handmade paper practices with image construction - using the recycled textile pulp to creating artworks where the image is literally embedded within the paper-like material rather than applied to its surface.
