'Tarlatan Series VII (Take Me to London)' is part of the body of work titled Under the Umbrella, which fuses medium, history and affect to reconsider how male intimacy and subjectivity can be embodied, archived and made materially present, proposing haptic engagement as both an aesthetic strategy and a form of cultural resistance.
Discarded men's clothing is transformed into fibre pulp and applied to substrates that integrate archival photographic images to embed personal histories and the literal fabric of male experience within the pictorial surface. The resulting work encourages a slower, more thoughtful mode of viewing by shifting engagement from purely visual consumption to a multisensory interaction.
