Lorrkons, also known as hollow log coffins, are central in funeral ceremonies practiced by Julie’s clan in East Arnhem Land.

Julie paints her clan design, with 'Gapu' (water dreaming) being depicted on this Lorrkon.

Julie’s art gives voice to her traditional beliefs. Particular focus is given to her custodial stories, shark and stingray. Rarrk (cross hatching) is her preferred technique. This she applies to various mediums including bark and wood carvings.
