In this painting Maureen has depicted the country surrounding her homelands at Yuelamu, 290 km northwest of Alice Springs in Central Australia, also known as Mt Allan.

The story was passed to her by her mother and shows the topographical layout of the land and water holes that play a vital source to the traditional Aboriginal people. The locations of various waterway and water sources were taught to children from a young age, so they knew how to survive in the harsh desert. 

The water also is important for the supply of native bush food, which is important for a traditional life.
