'Because of the power and importance of the subject, I felt the scale of this piece needed to be large. I wanted to make a work that could be my bottom-line message to God (whoever or whatever god is !). So, in essence it’s a love letter, or thank-you note to the universe for allowing me in. By leaving out all human component, I’m directing all the honour to the animal, and natural world. I wanted all my favourite in, Land, Sea, Moon, Stars, Birds, Fish, Clouds, Sharks, Rays, etc. The ‘Man’ in the title is me, and hopefully anyone else who looks, and relates to the drawing.’
