Rachel was born in Ali Curung (Warrabria) in Central Australia and is from the Kaiditji/Anmatjerre tribes. Rachel learnt to paint by observing her mother and other relatives record their dreamings in the late 1980’s.

This painting is a depiction of the Yuparli or Bush Banana, a native source of food for the Anmatjerre people.

Following periods of rain these plants, grow and it is then the women's responsibility to gather the Yupari (Bush Banana).
