Collection: Lola Brown Nampitjinpa

Lola Nampitjinpa Brown was born in Ti-Tree, a small community 190 kms north of Alice Springs in Central Australia. Lola attended high school in Alice Springs before moving to Mount Allan community where she married her promised husband.

In 2002 she moved to Yuendumu approx 280kms north west of Alice Springs in Central Australia. The art movement started in Yuendumu in the early 80’s and the area is well known for producing some of Australia leading artists. It was here in Yuendumu that she also met and married her second husband, Christopher Poulson Tjapaltjarri (dec), who was also an artist.

Lola has been painting for many years and her paintings portray stories of her country that have been passed down through the generations. Lola's strong use of bright colour is reflective of the style of art from Yuendumu.
