Collection: Jake Moss
Jake Moss is a Brisbane-based artist and filmmaker working across painting, sculpture, video, and installation. His practice is grounded in autobiography and place, frequently drawing on his upbringing in Woodridge and broader questions of class, access, and cultural visibility in suburban Australia.
Moss often structures exhibitions as narrative experiences, borrowing frameworks from cinema to organise bodies of work that sit between personal history and social critique. His projects combine humour with restraint, using familiar materials and formats to examine how creative labour is valued, remembered, and made public.
His work has been recognised through finalist selections in major Australian art prizes, including The Alice Prize and the UniSQ Biennial Art Awards, and through multiple awards at international film festivals.
