These spears represent cultural continuity, collective identity and resistance rooted in Country. Hand-knapped with jasper and dressed with emu feathers, they draw from traditional practices while adopting contemporary airbrushed patterns. 

Each spear is unique, yet visually connected, reflecting the strength of one clan among many standing together. 

Jasper is a microcrystalline form of quartz found across the Burnett region of central Queensland within my Country. This stone has long been a material of choice for traditional cutting tools and weaponry. 

My choice of using this stone connects the work directly to the landscape and knowledge systems. 

These spears become more than sculptural forms, they carry the geological memory of the land, and speak to its continuity despite colonial disruption.
