In this painting, Liddy depicts the women picking seeds from the Wakirlpirri or Dogwood tree (Acacia coriacea).

The Wakirlpirri is a very useful tree that grows on the sides of creek beds and near Mulga trees. The seeds can be eaten raw or cooked on the fire, and also made into a deliciously sweet drink called Yinjirri

The wood from the tree is used to make boomerangs, other weapons and dancing boards for ceremonies and is good for burning on the fire as rain cannot extinguish the burning Wakirlpirri wood.
